Here at Stand, we have a morning Stand Up meeting first thing where one of us presents on a topic of our choice, such as talking about which podcasts we’re listening to, great recipes or book recommendations. This week’s was led by Lucy Chapple, our head of client strategy, who’s topic of choice was supporting small business.
Everyone loves a good news story and last month we got a great one when best-selling author Jojo Moyes rescued The Reading Agency’s adult literacy scheme from collapse after it lost funding.
When we first heard the news, we knew it would be a brilliant opportunity to get some first-class coverage about the wonderful work that The Reading Agency does and, more importantly, to raise awareness about the fundraising struggles that charities face.
And yet Stand lived to tell the tale! (Never underestimate the endurance and enthusiasm of Stand-ees).
Whilst the nation enjoyed a lazy Saturday morning lie in, Stand were up alive and kicking, aboard the 6.30am train from St Pancras – Bamford, Derbyshire. Why you may ask? To embark on the first-ever DofE Adventure Fundraising weekend, trekking a limb aching 25km in the Peak District!
At Stand, we’re all about practicing what we preach and this weekend saw the team donning their hiking boots and dusting off the sleeping bags in support of one of our clients, The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award.
Ah Autumn. The time for snuggling up indoors with some good telly and a cuppa. Right? Nope, not for Team Stand. We’ll be welcoming the start of Autumn with nothing less than a 25km trek in the Peak District as part of The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award Adventure challenge.
