We helped a specialist mortgage lender convince Brits the Mediterranean property dream is still alive

The challenge
BNP Paribas International Buyers is the European leading specialist mortgage lender, with more than 25 years of experience delivering mortgages to non-resident investors in France. Despite a quarter of Brits abandoning EU purchases following the Brexit vote, BNP Paribas’ annual Observatoire report found UK buyers were still keen to pursue property projects in France. BNP Paribas engaged Stand to secure coverage for the Observatoire findings in UK press, to inspire confidence in those Brits toying with the prospect of a European property.

Our approach
This was more than a media sell in. We worked to get the property pages excited about a topic that had seemingly dropped off journalists’ radar since Brexit. In addition to a punchy press release, we sourced several case studies of UK buyers to add colour to the story. We also provided a range of beautiful properties currently on the market to show readers how far their pound can still get them in France. Combined with phone briefings to offer on-the-ground insight from a BNP Paribas spokesperson, we gave national and trade property media everything they needed to build an aspirational feature story.

The results
We achieved front-page coverage in The Times, with a double-page spread in the Bricks and Mortar property feature, followed up with another piece a week later in The Times, as well as widespread pickup across property publications, including A Place in The Sun, Property Reporter, French Property and Complete France.
